Figjam for Video or Presentation Planning

A very common activity that happens in a lot of classrooms revolves around either an in-class presentation or the creation of a video for students to share what they have learned. Often times the students are working in groups and their working process may not always be visible to the teacher. By using a Figjam and a couple of template options, you can create a work space for your students to collaborate in as they create their presentation or video, that also allows the teacher to visible see their work while they are doing this.

This gives us the opportunity to provide more instruction around collaboration because it can easily be seen who is doing what, what obstacles they are running into, and how well they are progressing through the project before the due date. Remember, we can not expect it if we do not model it or teach, and reteach, it. If we expect students to collaborate as part of the learning process, we need to make sure that we are able to provide instruction, and support, throughout the collaboration process.

Another really nice thing about Figjam is that you can create a template to share with everyone in your district, or you can just create a file that you want your students to duplicate. Either way, you can set your students up to be more successful by scaffolding their collaborative process and give them a Figjam file that can help them more easily plan out and carry out their work. Watch the video below to see one way that you can create a Figjam to support students as they create a presentation or a video project.
