One of the biggest obstacles to working effectively in the digital world, is our ability to stay organized and to not fall into the deep end of disorganization with digital files. It is much easier to be an effective educator if you are organized. This was true before computers and is even more true now with the massive amounts of digital files that we deal with. Email and online file storage are the two main areas that can cause us to be disorganized. I pride myself on my ability to stay organized and this helps me to be more effective at my work. I do not lose files and I definitely am almost always up to date on every email I have.
I put together two videos to help others stay organized with their Google Drive and their Gmail. If you find yourself in a large pit of despair when it comes to digital organization, the best thing is to start as fresh as you can and as soon as you can. The sooner you start, the easier it will be to get to a state where you are comfortable and not overwhelmed.
